Track Descriptions

Side of The Lagoon

A full sounding ambient piece, travelling from glitchy delayed drums and piano to a grand swing-feel crescendo. Side of The Lagoon is a royal sounding feel-good composition.

Hold The Line

Hold The Line starts with a smooth sailing synthesiser, accompanied by pianos dripping with long reverb and delays. The piece is joined shortly by retro style drums and a shifting bass synthesiser. The piece of music alludes to mystery or crime.

Americanarama

Travelling across the world, Americanarama utilises Latin style strings and percussion to create mystery and suspense. Joined later by moody drums, the composition comes together in the form of a descending guitar motif.

On The Edge of The World

Ethereal and glimmering, On The Edge of The World brings together shimmer reverbs and glistening instrumentation to create a stratospheric image.

Chill With The 80’s

With a mix of time signatures between instruments, Chill With The 80’s is a mesmerising rhythmic composition. An analogue  bass synthesiser takes the main melody of the composition, giving room to the higher frequencies to dance around the melody creating a dream-like state.

Heavenly Horns

An intense composition making use of horn sections and synthesisers to create a whooshing, grand soundscape. Using a similar motif to On The Edge of The World, Heavenly Horns pushes the composition towards a royal, sacred feeling presented through the piece of music.

Mischievous Pianos

A minimalistic composition featuring two single electronic pianos. Mischievous Pianos is a detective/thriller style piece of music utilising an adagio tempo and long, trailing reverb tails to create a feeling of sadness and suspense.

Above The Clouds

Another minimalistic composition, Above The Clouds uses ascending and descending synthesisers and electronic guitars drenched in shimmer reverb, simulating the feeling of being above the clouds.

Slow Travel Over Asia

A slow tempo rhythmic composition, Slow Travel Over Asia uses strings and woodwind from the East of the world to create a journey like experience. A Chinese Erhu Violin weaves in-between the piece, with descending and ascending melodies creating a pitch shifting feeling.

Distant Circuits

The end of Flight, Distant Circuits uses electronic pianos and rippling synthesisers to create an eerie “End of the night” feeling. A LoFi style minimalist composition using timbre to create suspense and a chilling experience.

Track Descriptions

Whistle Intro

The opening track of Fight, Whistle Intro uses minimalism to create an eerie, empty-feeling composition whilst sustaining suspense. The music is then joined by big, pounding drums, creating drama through simplicity.

End of The World

End of The World uses ethereal sounding reverbs to bring in the start of the composition. This is then met with a sad piano and sustained string synthesisers. Chimes repeat the notes of the melody. The composition is designed to create an apocalyptic feeling, as though there is nothing in the world that matters anymore.

LoFi in Miami

LoFi in Miami utilises retro drums and 80s style synthesisers to create a thriller style, cool atmosphere. Sustained synthesisers pitch bend through the jumping bass-line.

Delay The Game

Delay The Game is perhaps a highlight of hope on album 2. Using intense acoustic drums joined by strings, the composition breaks through delayed guitars and synthesisers, creating a chugging feeling. String sections accompany melody, creating a “Game Show” style mood.

Violin and Violent Percussion

Rhythm plays a big part of Violin and Violent Percussion, with synthesisers creating a repetitive melody that jumps in-and-out of string sections. The piece is joined by the violent beating of drums, coming to a crescendo in which all instruments play in unison.

String Stomp

String Stomp uses big bass drum sounds to create a rhythm section that is shortly joined by a string section in unison. Pizzicato strings and piano bring the composition to an end, with a hint of fantasy and adventure to the music.

Battle Royale

With an intro consisting of bass synthesisers and a repetitive single note piano melody, Battle Royale transcends through a royal crescendo, to a dramatic string section playing a menacing melody.

East Coast LoFi

Taking inspiration from East Coast Hip-Hop, East Coast LoFi is the most uniquely different track from album 2, using big bass synthesisers and glitchy lead synths that almost sound like they’re imitating the human voice, this composition creates a menacing atmosphere.

Falling Into Space

Utilising a descending pentatonic melody, Falling Into Space takes the listener into a hypnotic trance. Formed over a 3/4 time signature, drums and an electric organ then join the melody, taking the listener further into the allure of the music.

The Beginning of the End

Closer of album 2, The Beginning of The End uses sad electronic piano and organs to create a dramatic theme. Joined shortly by a repeating guitar motif and moody drums, the piece shortly transcends into an energetic almost ballad-style composition, joined by synthesisers carrying the melody. The idea of the synthesisers was to attempt to make them sound like they were crying with emotion, with a screaming style edge to them.
